Nyumburu Cultural Center, University of Maryland College Park will acknowledge, celebrate, highlight, and award those who have made a difference in their respective works and or walks of life. Nominations for national or international achievers are welcome.
This individual imagines and works towards innovative ideals they accomplished through devotion. his/her efforts have reached an international level of impact, leading to an unconventional future place.
This individual took the adversities and lack from his/her life to create opportunities and fill a lack in the market place.
A person who steadfastly journeys through the exploration of discovering the undiscovered, adapting to changes, and producing, through experience, a new perspective.
This individual rejects the historical oppression of their demographic or circumstances and produces a significant shift in the matter.
This female uses her uncommon courage and determination as means and ability to overcome adversities in her life and achieve the impossible
Eligibility:
- Nominees must be able to receive the award in person.
- Must be able to prove involvement with a minimum of 5 years prior to nomination.
- Show proof of nation residency.
Criteria:
- Evidence, details and description of specific true achievements accomplished through the nominee's efforts
- Evidence, details and description of time, effort and commitment in national/international communities
- Evidence, details and description of career achievements, i.e. length, tenure background, experiences, milestones, and results.
- Evidence, details and description of individual's leadership and gull that is effective, impactful, innovative, and exemplary
