Practical Entrepreneurship Education: Series 2

STEMpreneurship

Realizing the shortage of low-to-moderate income students venturing into the STEM fields, WETATi Academy created their STEMpreneurship program. The overall goal of the program is to encourage, expose and challenge students to pursue college majors and careers in engineering and other STEM-related fields through outreach experiential programs of well-intentioned hands-on practical, enrichment, and career exploration. In addition, we believe and have proven that these youth are not too young to innovate and take their STEM ideas (STEMpreneur) and turn them into businesses ideas with the right program, resources, and support.

WETATi Academy STEMpreneurship education explores and teaches the entrepreneurial aspect of STEM, so that the students (STEMPRENEURS) can begin early to learn how to monetize and leverage their scientific ideas and prepare them for the 21st century workforce in any field of their choosing.

Students will be exposed and introduced to other various STEM related fields such as coding, cyber security, robotics, esports, and more. Students (STEMPreneur’s) will learn how to navigate STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) through the various topics introduced. Students will develop experiential knowledge through practical exercises. Middle and high school students will complete the same course, taught by some of our strategic partners such as University of Maryland College Park Recreation and Wellness, University of Maryland Department of Environmental Science and Technology, and US Air Force Cyber Security specialist.

The lessons and concepts learned from STEM education are key elements in preparing youth for success in the future. A future in STEM careers is driving global economic growth and by adding the element of an uncharted territory such as Esports, we are creating the next generation of trailblazers by allowing students to explore what is possible in something that is already so enjoyable for them.

Students will learn about the following:

Opportunities don't happen,
you create them.

“There is a STEM based relationship between esport games, players, teams, fans, leagues, organizers, agents, developers, lawyers, investors and multimedia. Students in our local community need exposure to these lucrative esport career opportunities.”
